PAC Seeks an Executive Director
Pelham Art Center – Village of Pelham, NY
Pelham Art Center is seeking an Executive Director who will be a dynamic, versatile, and highly collaborative leader and the Pelham Art Center’s chief public representative, charting its course for the future. The ED will provide strategic leadership, vision, strong financial stewardship, and organizational direction across education, exhibitions, and broad community engagement, while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that advances Pelham Art Center’s mission.
At Pelham Art Center, they believe art should be accessible to everyone. Through their wide array of classes and workshops and outreach programs, they bring hands-on creative experiences to people of all ages—from toddlers to seniors—both onsite at PAC and in partnership with schools, community centers, and local organizations. Their offerings include painting, ceramics, digital design, fashion illustration, animation, printmaking, and more—always tailored to the needs and interests of each group they serve. PAC serves approximately 12,700 people who live in southern Westchester County and the northern Bronx and works with more than 300 artists and artist educators each year.

Work With Us! Call for Teaching Artists
Pelham Art Center is expanding its teaching artist roster and seeks creative and experienced artists working across all visual art media for its youth and adult classes, workshops, and outreach programs, with a particular focus on Pre-K through 6th grade.
We are looking to connect with artists for current and future opportunities throughout the year, including semester-based classes, summer camps, afterschool programs, and project-based residencies.
Internships - Applications Open for Fall 2024!
Pelham Art Center welcomes high school and college students to engage in internships. Internships offer an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and learn valuable skills while contributing to a community-based nonprofit art center. Interns can focus on program implementation, special events, research, administration, and more!
Interns at Pelham Art Center are asked to make a commitment to a 5 month internship of about 4 hours per week (appx. 80 hours total).
Interns are also encouraged to assist in leading the newly formed Teen Artist Council (see below) who will be working towards building public programs in 2024 – 2025 such as: Careers in the Arts panels in January & February 2025, Curating an exhibition is April 2025 and driving public programs such as the Art Happening, Community Art Day, ArtsFest, the Pelham Juneteenth Celebration, and more.
Teen Artist Council 2024 - 2025
Join the Teen Artist Council! The Teen Artist Council gathers and engages young people interested in creating teen-centric art programs. This will include selecting candidates to speak on a Careers in the Arts Panel series in Winter 2025, curating a gallery exhibition at PAC in April 2025, and leading select public programs. This group will meet the second Saturday of the month and the last Wednesday of the month, in a hybrid capacity. This is a program where teens interested in art can communicate, learn, and enjoy the processes of creative expression. This program will be overseen by the PAC professional staff and guest teaching artists, and participants are accepted on a rolling basis through 2024 and 2025!
In addition to the Teen Artist Council, Pelham Art Center hosts Free Open Studios for Teens (materials are provided!) Open Studio sessions are hosted throughout the school year on Fridays, from 3:30-5:30PM
Summer Open Studio sessions will be held on July 12th, 19th, and 26th from 5:00 – 7:00PM

Ongoing Opportunities for Movement & Play Instructors
Pelham Art Center is expanding its teaching roster and welcomes inquiries from enthusiastic, imaginative, and dynamic Movement & Play Instructors interested in working with children ages 3–7.
While this is not a currently open position, we are looking to connect with potential instructors for future opportunities that may arise in both our on-site programs and community outreach initiatives.
