Winter Workshop

Abstract art aims to veer away from pure representational art and instead focus more on expression and mood, mark-making, patterns and shapes, rhythms and tones, improvisations and the imaginary. In this class we will explore the different types of abstraction through prompts and using a variety of visual imagery –how to respond and translate what we see into abstract forms. The elements of drawing- line, shape, texture, composition and value will be highlighted in order to create personal abstract drawings. The heart of the class will be on expression, movement, rhythm, on using our imagination, on manipulating and mastering the actual drawing medium, and above all — to let go and have fun!
