Ceramics for Beginners: Part II
During this 4 week course students will use slabs and coils of clay to create bowls, plates, serving trays and teapots using multiple sizes of molds, not all of them round. Students may also want to throw on the potter’s wheel. They will have the opportunity to incorporate texture into their work by impressing fabric, natural and found objects, texture mats, stamps, etc. into slabs and will be encouraged to make their own stamps. Finally students will glaze their creations in ways that will reveal their textured surfaces.
