An art pallet is full of life – red roars, blue whispers and yellow yells! In this class your child will gain an understanding of color theory as a means of self expression and learn to appreciate color and all its possibilities. Students will acquire skills in perspective and depth to create rainbow landscapes or panoramic paintings in a Modern Impressionistic style. The goal of the class is for students to create two artworks in the span of 8 sessions to allow for thorough concentration on technique. Students will be able to explore various mediums in their paintings such as acrylics, color pencils, plaster, glue, foam-board and canvas. The class will look at works of great artists like Picasso, Pollack, Van Gogh and Monet, to highlight how their unique ways of using color have made their works special. Remember Leonardo da Vinci produced his first masterpiece at 18 years old… so your child will have a head start!
