Fall Class

This is where the verbal intersects with the visual! Students will explore a variety of creative writing exercises and hands-on art projects that will lend to an intertwining thought process. Writing and art-making will form a delightful partnership, as some artwork will inspire text and some text will inspire artwork. Students will write short stories, poems, flash fiction and illustrate them using mixed media to develop an expressive vocabulary based on emerging themes. Mastering new techniques in painting, drawing, sculpture and collage will help create a conversation between the literary and the tangible. Each student will be expected to share their creations as well as receive feedback from their peers. The goal will be for students to go home with a unique and integrated collection of their own work.
