The fascinating environment and ecosystem of animals, plants, nature and humans will come to life in this imaginative art class. Students will be exposed to the work of French painter Henri Rousseau and use his work as inspiration. The goal of the class is to create two art pieces┬áthat will be constructed throughout 8 sessions. The project will be divided in three parts: Participants will create a 3D portrait of an animal or person of their choice in a plaster cast, and then they will work on the background environment where they will draw and paint with acrylics and finally embellish their work with materials like sand, leaves, flowers, etc. Students will be able to create another different environmental creation and, if time allows, a third one. This type of work will engage their minds and imaginations – and most importantly, have FUN!
