Animation is only limited by the bounds of your imagination. Students will be given the opportunity to bring their ideas to life using more than paper and a camera. Students will learn principles that apply to all forms of animation, from flip-books to digital techniques. Students will practice these techniques through hands on exercises and guided through the creation of their own looping animations. Students should be comfortable drawing the same thing repeatedly, and drawing under time constraints. Knowledge of digital tools like Photoshop, Toon Boom, After Effects, etc. is useful but not necessary. Students will be given the opportunity to experiment with some of these tools over the duration of the course as the instructors showcase the correlations between modern techniques and their historical counterparts.
