Explore the ancient art of mosaics in this fun and educational class! A mosaic is an art form consisting of patterns of small pieces of tile or glass inlay in cement or grout. In this class, students will be introduced to the process of creating mosaics while also learning about this centuries-old art form. Students will create a design of their favorite subject in pencil and use grout to add tiles of various colors. This will allow students to explore color, design, and shape while using a variety of materials such as acrylic paint, mirrors and tiles. The goal of the class is for students to create a masterpiece in the span of 8 sessions to allow for thorough concentration on technique.
