Learn how to paint a portrait from life with acclaimed artist and professor Edgar Jerins!  The class will begin with a demonstration of the proportions of the face where we will explore various techniques to obtain a likeness. Students will then learn to start their paintings with an acrylic layer of Grisaille, which is a painting technique by which an image is executed entirely in shades of gray. After this dries, we will spend the last two hours applying color with oil paint to make details sing and flesh tones come to life.
