Printmaking is a step-by-step artistic process that incorporates cause and effect. This class will explore different kinds of printmaking such as relief, stenciling, monotypes, mark-making, stamps, sunprints, and more. Projects will incorporate drawing techniques and reference still-life observation, using different papers, paints and inks as well as more natural materials. In addition to both traditional and unconventional techniques, students will learn about the historical background of printmaking to gain deeper insight into their own creations.
