Summer Workshop

This workshop has reached its capacity of students.

Create a collage portrait inspired by Romare Bearden! Bearden (1911-1988) was one of the most important American collage artists of the 20th century. In this workshop, students will create a collage inspired by his collage “Conjur Woman.” Your subject can be an important or powerful woman in your life (or in history). Plan to bring photos, magazine and newspaper cut-ups (images and text) and assorted colorful painted papers to class. The workshop will include a discussion about Romare Bearden and his collage “Conjur Woman,” demonstration, and individual guidance. All levels are welcome to attend.
