2022 Pelham Reads!

October 1, 2022 - October 2, 2022

The Friends of the Town of Pelham Public Library, Pelham Public Library, and Pelham Art Center are proud to present the following workshops related to the illustrated children’s novel ‘Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures’ by Kate DiCamillo, with art by K.G. Campbell.

The book tells the story of Flora Belle Buckman and a squirrel named Ulysses, who develops unusual intellectual and physical capabilities after being sucked into a vacuum cleaner. In bonding with Ulysses, the guarded Flora learns to discard her cynicism and be more open-hearted. Like many of DiCamillo’s books, Flora and Ulysses features a tough female protagonist and an eccentric cast of characters, as well as an animal who is central to the plot.
