Career in the Arts: Alice Mizrachi

March 11, 2023

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

By Kate Feldman, Pelham Art Center Intern

Alice Mizrachi is a New York and Miami based interdisciplinary artist who works as a muralist, fine artist, educator, and curator.  For nearly twenty years, Mizrachi has been an arts educator for a number of institutions, such as BRIC Arts, The Laundromat Project, and The Studio Museum in Harlem.  She has been chosen to create an arts education curriculum for organizations including HI-ARTS, Dr. Richard La Izquierdo School, Brown University, and the Miami Light Project.

Alice’s public works, which are deeply tied to her heritage, often explore ideas of community, individuality, and advocacy for women, youth, and the environment.

Today, Mizrachi explores assemblage, sculpture, and installation experiments that have transformed her paintings and decade-long practice of mural work.  Alice Mizrachi’s diverse range of pieces have sparked discussions that reinforce both personal and community-oriented identities.  Alice aims to inspire others through artistic expression in order to make art a more inclusive experience.
